With Christmas less than a week away, the final two Carabao Cup semi-finalists need to be decided after Burton Albion and Manchester City both booked their places in the last four on Tuesday. It’s a North London Derby on Wednesday evening as Arsenal host Tottenham.
It’s very hard to split these two North London clubs recently as each side has won two of the last six meetings along with two draws. However, Tottenham have won just one of the last nine League Cup fixtures between the teams with Arsenal coming out on top in six of those. The Gunners claimed bragging rights the last time they both met as they came from behind to beat their arch rivals 4-2 at the Emirates earlier this month.
Emery will be desperate to pick up his first piece of silverware with Arsenal after his summer arrival and has a great chance in the Carabao Cup. He will be without Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck whilst Sead Kolasinac faces a late fitness test. Latest matches: Arsenal FC

Mauricio Pochettino has been judged on his inability to win anything at Spurs so he’ll be hoping to bring this trophy into the trophy cabinet at the new White Hart Lane. Eric Dier, Jan Vertonghen and Moussa Dembele will all miss out as Harry Kane, Davinson Sanchez and Serge Aurier are all doubts for the clash. Latest matches: Tottenham Hotspur

There have been some cracking matches between these two sides in recent years and this one has every chance of following the pattern. Arsenal will fancy their chances with home advantage which is the only thing that makes them slight favourites against an in-form Tottenham side. I would expect both teams to score and over 2.5 goals to be scored in the match as happened when they met two and a half weeks ago.
