The Atletico Madrid vs Celta Vigo match will be played on Sunday, February 12th, 2017 at the Vincent Calderon in Madrid. This is matchday 22 in the 2016/17 La Liga season. Atletico Madrid is 5th with 39 points while Celta Vigo is 10th with 59 points.
The two sides have met already this season with Atletico winning 4-0 at Balaidos. Antoine Griezmann grabbed two after Koke had broken the deadlock. Angel Correa scored the 4th in the last minute.
Celta won at the Vincent Calderon in 2015-16 in the Copa Del Rey, 3-2 but last won in La Liga at Atletico in 2006/07. That also finished 3-2 so if this one gets to 2-2, be ready to place your bets on a Celta win! Head to head matches: Atletico Madrid - Celta de Vigo

Diego Simeone left the Camp Nou proud of his players’ midweek efforts but disappointed at losing the Copa Del Rey on aggregate. The general consensus was that Atletico were the better side in the 1-1 draw but Barcelona triumphed thanks to their 2-0 win in Madrid during the first leg.
Atletico go into the game with long-standing injuries keeping Jan Oblak and Augusto Fernandez out of the side. Tiago and Diego Godin join them in the treatment room but Jose Gimenez is expected to be fit for this match.
Yannick Carasco is coveted by Arsenal but Nicolas Gaitan is expected to retain his place in the starting line-up while Lucas Hernandez and Juanfran will feature in defence.
With the title gone as well as the Copa Del Rey, Atletico will focus on improving their La Liga performance. Real Sociedad stole a march on them, moving into 4th with their win at Espanyol. Sevilla face a tricky trip to Las Palmas, so Atleti have the top 3 in their sights. Latest matches: Atletico Madrid

Celta arrive at the Vincent Calderon with no new injury concerns, just Claudio Beauve and Ruben Blanco absent. Others walk the disciplinary tightrope but for this fixture, that is not a concern.
The Galicians are in the same boat as Atletico, having lost their Copa Del Rey semi-final to Alaves last week.
Following the postponement of their home game against Real Madrid, it’s their first league match since a 2-0 win over Leganes.
With a game in hand over most other teams above them, Celta are once again eyeing a Europa League place. They face Shaktar Donetsk in the next round and having enjoyed good progress so far, are keen to repeat it next season. Latest matches: Celta de Vigo

It’s hard to see beyond an Atletico win in this fixture. Diego Simeone will want them to be firing on all cylinders ahead of the trip to Leverkusen in two weeks’ time.
In between they face a trip to Sporting in Gijon and host Barcelona, in a tough run of fixtures. However, this is the game Atleti will target as 3 points to take to the bank.
They need to beware though. Celta won 2-1 in the Bernabeu in the Copa Del Rey quarter-final so cannot be underestimated. They also beat Barcelona at Balaidos; they won’t surrender easily and will be quite content to absorb the home side’s pressure for most of the game.
Don’t expect many goals. Celta are as attritional as Atletico with only one of their games since their 3-1 win over Malaga at the start of January, featuring more than 2.5 goals.
