As the international break takes over from the fixtures in Europe’s biggest leagues, the attention turns towards the lower leagues as football fans look for their fill of the weekend action. With very little involvement in the international matches, it’s business as usual for League 1 sides and two of this season’s strongest teams face off on Tuesday night. Rotherham United make the trip to Bradford City as both sides look to move into the automatic promotion places. The hosts are currently third, seven points off the top of the table while the visitors are seventh, on the cusp of a play-off position.
Due to the fluctuation in which divisions these two sides have been playing in the last few years, their meetings have been few and far between. However, Bradford went on a run between 2011 and 2013 where they won six consecutive matches against Rotherham. The last fixture between the two in September ended 1-0 to Bradford, thanks to a goal from Romain Vincelot.
Without any major injury worries, this is a great chance for the hosts to close the gap between themselves and top two, Shrewsbury and Wigan. Although, Charlton are a place below them, level on points, with a game-in-hand.

A win for Rotherham in this one could see them go fifth but it won’t be easy, especially away from home. Like their opponents, they don’t have anyone on the injury table and will be reliant on their deadly talisman, Moore, to provide them with some magic.

Due to the atmosphere created by the home fans at any level of English football, it makes it much harder for the visiting team to come away with all three points. This is no different for Rotherham as they will struggle against a stronger side away from home. A narrow Bradford win is expected by the visitors certainly shouldn’t be ruled out as they tend to play well on the counter-attack.
