The Premier League season is getting ever closer to reaching its interesting conclusion and the title race could not be any more exciting. Manchester City are chasing Liverpool and they face Everton on Wednesday evening.
The results between these two teams in the last few years haven’t been as one-sided as many people would predict. In the last five meetings, Man City have won two, lost one and drawn two and both of those victories came in the last two by a 3-1 scoreline. Both teams have scored in four of the five matches whilst over 2.5 goals have been scored in three of them.
The hosts can leapfrog Watford with three points and increase the pressure on Wolves in 7th but they’ll certainly be up against it without some of their best players. Leighton Baines, Yerry Mina, Idrissa Gueye and Phil Jagielka are all expected to miss out. Latest matches: Everton FC

Man City can actually go back ahead of Liverpool at the top of the table with a win and they only have two injury worries. Vincent Kompany will not feature while Benjamin Mendy faces a late fitness test. Latest matches: Manchester City

Everton aren’t exactly in the best form and Man City seem to be desperate to overtake Liverpool which I fully expect them to do. The 3-1 scoreline seen in the last two meetings could very easily be replicated and at a good price, it might be worth backing. A win for the visitors and over 2.5 goals also looks a good shout in a game that will be played at full tempo.
