As the UEFA Champions League moves into the second week of the knock-out stages, FC Porto host Italian champions, Juventus. Both teams will be hopeful of making the next round, which happens to be the quarter-final and Porto need to take their home advantage in the first leg through to the away fixture if they want to progress. Juventus will be looking to pick up an important away goal or two to give them a vital advantage as they go back to Turin.
Juventus and Porto have faced each other just twice in the Champions League where Juventus won the home tie and the sides drew in Porto. This was all the way back in 2001 so Porto will be hoping to record their first win over Juve.
Porto fans will be happy to see that they have a full team available in order to take a win into their second leg against Juventus. They have a completely full team to choose from as they are without any injuries and suspensions, giving them a better chance of coming away from the fixture with a lead heading into the second leg. However, it’s not just Porto that have a fully available squad at their disposal as Juventus also head into the first leg in Portugal without any suspensions or injuries. This gives them just as good a chance of taking a lead into the second leg in their own back yard.

Both sides will be eager to progress to the quarter-finals of this season’s UEFA Champions League and in order to do so, they will to get a strong result going into the second leg. Juventus will want at least one away goal while for Porto, a win and a clean sheet would be perfect. The task for Juventus is much easier and due to them having a much stronger team on paper, they shouldn’t have too many problems taking a lead back to their ground. I fully expect to see Juventus win this first leg.
