The Swiss Super League season is over and Young Boys got their hands on the title after winning it by 15 points. They will be hoping to complete the domestic double on Sunday as they face FC Zurich in the Swiss Cup Final.
The head-to-head records don’t make good reading for Zurich fans as they have failed to beat Young Boys in their last seven encounters. Of the four meetings in the league since August, there was one draw and three Young Boys wins, all of which by just one goal. Sunday’s underdogs have scored just twice in their last six fixtures against Young Boys. Zurich will take confidence from the fact that they’ve lost one of their 10 finals in this competition while Young Boys have lost seven of their 13.
Zurich have won this cup nine times so they’re no strangers to a Swiss Cup final. However, they have seven injured players and one suspended for the match. Kevin Rüegg and Victor Pálsson both picked up knocks a couple of weeks ago and aren’t expected to return.

The last time Young Boys won this was back in 1987 and now would be the perfect time for them to end that 31-year wait for another. Kevin Mbabu is just one of their four injured players for the huge game. Latest matches: Young Boys Bern

Based on performances in the league this season, it should be Young Boys who are huge favourites but on cup history, Zurich should win. Nine Swiss Cup final wins and just one loss provide a boost for Zurich while the fact that Young Boys last won it in the 80s will also bring confidence. It could easily go to extra-time but Young Boys do hold the advantage.
