Australia

The France vs. Australia match will be played on Saturday, June 16, at the Kazan Arena, Kazan. This is the first round match of group C, which is consisted of Peru and Denmark, apart from France and Australia.
These teams played only three times against each other. All games were played in this century and we saw one win for both sides and one draw. Their last game was played in 2013, when France destroyed their opponents by 6:0 in a friendly match.
France has a young, but very potent team, and they are given significant chances to win the title by various football analysts. However, since they are young, their form is not stable, so we saw many different games from them in the last 12 months. For example, they obliterated Netherlands in August 2017 and celebrated a 4:0 victory and only three days later they failed to score a single goal against outsiders Luxembourg. Everybody expect a victory on the start of the tournament, but this match might be harder than most of the people anticipate.

Australia is the biggest outsider in this group, but they have been in this situation in 2006, and qualified for the second phase against all odds. In fact, they played a very competitive match against Italy in the first round of the knockout phase, and were kicked out of the tournament after a dubious penalty call. Italy went on to win the tournament. Australia has a compact team and nobody should take them for granted in this group.

France is a favorite to win this match, but we don't expect a convincing victory. Australia will be happy with a point.
