Hertha BSC
vs
Bayern Munich
Kick-off

As happens most weeks in the Bundesliga, the matchweek kicks off on Friday evening with one fixture. This Friday’s clash sees high-flying Bayern travel to the capital to face Hertha Berlin who have also started well.
Hertha’s recent record against Bayern doesn’t make good reading for their fans as they have failed to beat the European giants at the last 14 attempts with their last win against them coming in 2009. However, each of the last three meetings between the sides have ended as a draw after a run of 11 consecutive victories for Bayern. There have been over 2.5 goals just twice in the last eight fixtures and both teams have scored twice in that time.
An unlikely home win would take Hertha level on points at the top with Bayern ahead of the weekend’s fixtures. They are without Marko Grujic and Jordan Torunarigha for the match while a whole host of players face late fitness tests including Peter Pekarik and Sidney Friede.

Three points for the visitors would strengthen their grip on top spot before the rest of the title challengers play on Saturday and Sunday. Leon Goretzka may return to the side while Corentin Tolisso, Kingsley Coman and Rafinha are injured. Latest matches: Bayern Munich

It’s always hard to see past a Bayern Munich victory in the Bundesliga and Friday night is no different as they have started the campaign how they finished last. However, Hertha have also started strongly and haven’t been beaten by Bayern in their last three meetings. I think the safe money is in backing the away side to win whilst a riskier bet would include a -1 handicap.
