The Bundesliga champions travel to Hertha Berlin as they look to increase their lead at the top of the table with 3 points against a side that they should certainly beat. In match week 21 of the Bundesliga season, both sides find themselves in good positions. Bayern Munich are, as expected, at the top of the table and Hertha Berlin have had a brilliant season and sit in 6th going into this one.
Like most teams, Hertha have really struggled against Bayern Munich and their last win against them in the league came in 2009. Hertha have also failed to score in the last 5 meetings between the sides. Head to head matches: Hertha BSC - Bayern Munich

Hertha will be desperate to turn their form around in the league so that they can challenge for the European spots again. They’ve got a few absences for the game against the league leaders, 3 of which have been out for a few weeks now and a new injury from their last game. Niklas Stark picked up a calf injury in the 2-0 loss to Schalke. He’s joined on the injury table by Mitchell Weiser, Sinan Kurt and Ondrej Duda.

Bayern Munich, on the other hand, will be looking to continue their good run of form in the league with a comfortable away win against Hertha Berlin. There’s almost a full team available at Carlo Ancelotti’s disposal as it’s only Jerome Boateng who misses the game with a shoulder injury he picked up in December and while he’s nearly ready for action again, he won’t be ready to be rushed into this one.

It’s definitely a game that Bayern should be winning but with Hertha’s unpredictability so far this term, it’s a game that Bayern may find themselves struggling. With their home support and decent home form, Hertha might fancy a win against the Champions but with such poor form in recent years against Bayern, the omens aren’t great for Hertha. It’s a great chance for Bayern to extend their 7-point lead at the top of the table but also a decent chance for Hertha to turn themselves around. It has all the makings to be a great game.
