Across Europe, the domestic football season is nearing its climax and in Italy, there’s still plenty to play for some sides. Inter have still got it all to play for in their two remaining games and they face Sassuolo on Saturday who won’t be going down this term.
With Sassuolo only becoming a top-flight side five years ago, there isn’t much history between these teams. In the nine previous Serie A encounters, it might come as a surprise to see that the minnows have actually won five of those. They won the reverse fixture earlier in the season 1-0 thanks to Diego Falcinelli’s first-half winner. Although, Inter have managed 16 goals in their four wins over Sassuolo and both teams have scored in just three of the nine fixtures.
This is a must-win game for Inter as they must keep the pressure on the two sides above them in the hope that they slip up. With no late-season injury worries, it bodes very well for the hosts.

This match holds very little importance for Saturday’s visitors but they will want to maintain their fantastic record against one of Italy’s giants. Federico Peluso misses out through suspension while Pol Lirola won’t be back before the end of the season. Latest matches: US Sassuolo

Saturday’s game at the San Siro is huge for Inter and quite irrelevant for Sassuolo which is why Inter are huge favourites to take, what could turn out to be, a vital three points. They should have too much firepower for the visitors who probably won’t exceed 80% effort levels.
