With the international break dominating the next couple of weeks, midweek football is at a premium this week. However, over in Sweden, Orgryte face Degerfors on Tuesday night as both sides look to break into the top four of the Superettan.

STATS

• Orgryte have had a great season so far and they currently sit 6^th with a game in hand over each of the sides above them in the table. They’ve won three of their last five matches with a draw and a loss making up the other results. That stalemate came last time out against relegation-threatened Jonkopings Sodra as they conceded a last-minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw. Only the top two teams have scored more than Orgryte.
• Degerfors have had an equally good campaign as they sit one place lower than their upcoming opponents with just goal difference separating them. They have only won one of their last five games with three draws and a loss. They were disappointingly beaten 1-0 at home in their last match by Varberg who are four places further down in the table. They are the only side inside the top half with a negative goal difference.
• Diego Montiel has been in decent form in front of goal for Orgryte this term and with nine goals, he’s their leading scorer.
• Only two players in the league have scored more than Degerfors’ strike partners. Both Sargon Abraham and Erik Bjorndahl have 11 Superettan goals and are in great form.

HEAD TO HEAD

It’s been so hard to split these two sides in their meetings over the last few years as they have both won three of the last six matches. Something that’s quite unusual is that the away side has won three of the last four meetings with Degerfors winning this fixture last term. There have been over 2.5 goals in seven of the last eight with both teams scoring in six of those.

ORGRYTE NEWS

With just five games left, it’s highly unlikely that Orgryte will be in a position to challenge for promotion but they can still realistically achieve a 4^th placed finish. They need to bounce back from the late disappointment they experienced last week.

With the same points tally as the hosts, Degerfors are able to reach the same heights with their last five games. However, if they want to challenge for a higher position, they must dramatically improve their form.

SUMMARY

With home advantage, Orgryte are seen as the slight favourites for victory in this match but it will certainly be close and Degerfors will take confidence from the form of the away side in this fixture. With both teams netting a high amount of goals this term, I’d certainly expect over 2.5 goals to land while both teams to score is also a good shout ahead of the clash.
