As far as end of season fixtures go, this is probably worse than most. Two sides who are already relegated facing to see which one is worse! Serie A’s 19th and 20th placed clubs face off as Palermo make the trip to Pescara for the penultimate game of the season and there certainly won’t be any fireworks.
Palermo have never beaten Pescara in Serie A in the 3 times the sides have faced each other in the competiton. There have been more than 2.5 goals in just one of the last 6 fixtures between the two and the game back in December ended 1-1. Head to head matchess in Serie A: Pescara Calcio - US Palermo

Pescara were big favourites for relegation before the season began and it’s no surprise to see them drop further and further from the rest of the teams in the league without any real fight or passion from their players. They’ll want to put this season behind them as soon as possible and build for next season and a win against Palermo in front of their own fans would sign off the season in a positive way. It will be hard for Zdeněk Zeman to motivate his players for this one.

It won’t be any easier for Palermo manager, Diego Bortoluzzi, to get his players in the mood for Monday night’s game especially as his side had a much better chance of survival at the start of the season. With 7 points in their last 3 games, they’ve shown that they had what it takes to stay in the division but a lack of passion from the players killed any chance of that. They’ll have to prepare for life in Serie B and they’ll be desperate to put this season to the back of their minds. Latest matches: US Palermo

With absolutely nothing on the line for either team, this has the potential to be one of the worst games of the Serie A season and could quite easily end as a goalless draw. It won’t be a game that sets the footballing world alight and the odd goal will more than likely decide it. Palermo will be slight favourites purely down to the fact of their better form heading into the game.
