Following a fantastic summer of World Cup football in Russia, the tournament hosts are in Nations League action against Turkey on Sunday. Both sides have played twice in Group B2, Russia top the group with their upcoming opponents below them.
In their five meetings on the international stage, Turkey have never beaten Russia who have won three of those. None of those fixtures have come at major tournaments with the most competitive of those coming in the Nations League where Russia came out 2-1 winners. In their other meeting of 2018, the sides drew 1-1 which was the only other game of the five where both teams scored. Over 2.5 goals have only been scored in one game, which was obviously the last match.
A win for Russia would put them on seven points at the top of the Nations League group, at least three points ahead of the other two sides. Following a strong World Cup, they are showing all the right signs of expanding on that progress. Latest matches: Russia

Three points for the visitors would see them leapfrog Russia at the top of the group but it won’t be easy. They failed to qualify for the World Cup for a reason so they must rapidly improve. Latest matches: Turkey

Russia, with home advantage, should have too much quality to overcome a struggling Turkey side on Sunday. Despite finding it hard to win recently, the Turkish should be able to register a goal but the hosts are still expected to beat them which is why Russia to win and both teams to score might be worth backing.
