AS Saint Etienne

After Tuesday night’s Ligue 1 game, the action continues on Wednesday evening and the biggest of the clashes sees Marseille travel to St Etienne trying to stop their poor run of form.
Marseille’s league dominance over St Etienne shouldn’t go unnoticed heading into this one. At the last 10 attempts, Wednesday’s home side haven’t won; losing on five occasions as well as drawing on five. Each of the last three have produced over 2.5 goals but both teams scored in just one of those which was the most recent meeting in February where it finished 2-2.
Three points for St Etienne would take them above Lyon and within a point of 2nd-place Lille however they are without Neven Subotic and Mathieu Debuchy.

As much as Marseille’s form is poor, a win would take them inside the top five and as only Adil Rami and Hiroki Sakai miss out, they have a great chance of doing so.

In spite of St Etienne’s superior league positioning, Marseille will still be confident of coming away with all three points. Both teams to score seems like a worthwhile bet as both sides have seen plenty of goals this season. As has happened in the last three meetings, over 2.5 goals should also come in.
