The Stoke vs. Manchester United match will be played on Saturday, January 21, at the Bet365 stadium, Stoke. Stoke is currently 9th at the table with 27 points, while Manchester United is currently 6th at the table with 40 points.

Stoke is in the series of two league victories in a row. Also, they scored five goals in those two matches.

Manchester United was undefeated in the last 12 games in Premier League. Last week's home draw against Liverpool broke their string of six league victories in a row.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a goal or recorded an assist in six league matches in a row.

In their last ten meetings, Stoke recorded two victories, Manchester United recorded six victories, while two matches ended as a draw. However, in their last six matches each team recorded two victories, so Stoke played much better against this opponent in the last three years.

Stoke was in a little crisis during December, they had a series of five matches without a victory. However, since January 1 Stoke recorded two convincing victories and it seems they are back in the right track. It would be great for them to record a victory against a strong opponent such as Manchester United, but they have no ambitions to find for European competition, so they won't be under big pressure. Goalkeeper Butland is still injured, as well as midfielder Walters and Ireland.

Manchester United had an amazing series of victories in November and December that sparked the hope they can still fight for the championship title. However, Liverpool held to a 1:1 draw at Old Trafford and with 12-point deficit it seems their dream is definitely shattered now. Excluding Tottenham and Liverpool, Manchester United had a really easy schedule during that period so we will see can they keep up in the forthcoming month, when they will have much tougher opponents. Mourinho has the advantage of not having any injured or suspended players currently.

Manchester United is certainly a big favorite here. However, it wouldn't be the first time for  Stoke to surprise them.
